MPA Application Dates & Deadlines at Evergreen

As of March 27, 2008, the MPA general cohort (includes the non -Tribal concentrations: Public/Non-Profit Administration and Public Policy) is full and is no longer accepting applications for Fall 2008. As in recent years, we had a significant increase in the number of applications we received, requiring some tough decisions by the admissions committee. We're pleased with the level of interest in our programs, and excited about the outstanding group of new students who will start with us in the fall.

We are continuing to accept applications for Fall 2008 admission to our Tribal cohort (the Tribal Governance concentration) . We currently expect to welcome applications through spring. Note that MPA Tribal cohort admissions are conducted every two years, so the next cohort will be admitted for Fall 2010.

A new general cohort class is admitted every year, and we will begin accepting applications for the next class, Fall 2009, on October 1, 2008. The priority deadline for applying for Fall 2009 admission is February 15, 2009. Applications received after that date will be considered on a space available basis. Students are notified by mail of the admission decision within a few weeks of the initial review. Students may request an early review by including this in a letter that accompanies the application.

In the meantime, it's possible for an individual with a bachelor's degree to take our elective courses as a Graduate Special Student, and count them towards their MPA degree if they are later admitted to the program. For more information on Special Student requirements and registration procedures, contact Randee Gibbons, MPA Assistant Director at (360) 867-6554 or via email.

The priority deadline for completed 2008-09 financial aid applications from Fall 2008 applicants and current students in the MPA program is May 1, 2008. We will begin notifying financial aid recipients after June 1.
