Hatha Yoga is an ancient system of wellness and freedom whereby one steps fully into the present moment through the vehicles of the body, heart and breath. This practice stills the mind through focus, and thus we gain an awareness of our true nature as we develop inner peace and calm. Yoga is a holistic path integrating the mind, body and spirit through the discipline of physical postures (asanas), breath work (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana). These yoga classes unite intelligent body alignment with heartfelt exploration. Through this joyful practice, we cultivate focus, strength,
flexibility, balance and grace.
Please wear comfortable exercise clothing. Bring your own mat or check out one out at the CRC. Other props are provided. Inform the instructor of any injuries or limitations that might affect your yoga participation.

This “class” is for yoga practitioners who already have a strong foundation and are able to practice safely on their own. It is a space for yogis of all traditions to come together to practice on their own in the company of other yogis. We invite you to show up with out a plan, without knowing in advance what you are supposed to do. Instead, listen inwardly for guidance, moment by moment, pose by pose. Come and move as you feel inspired to move within the general context of Hatha Yoga. There will be a loose structure of opening with meditation and closing with Shavasana/meditation. There will be music played ranging from “yoga” music, alternative to classic rock. All are encouraged to bring paper and pencil to make notes of sequences they come up with that they like. We come together to be inspired, meet other yogis, enjoy one another’s presence and focus.
