The Writing Center will have limited hours during eval week:
Monday through Wednesday - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday - 10 a.m. to 3p.m.
Friday - Closed

Read Shawnie Johnson's Articulations of Empowerment for the (Un)Scathed Writer, which includes descriptions of faculty on the Evergreen campus that teach writing.
Use the Writing Center's Writing Grid, a rubric that guides writers through the process of writing, from brainstorming to proofreading.
Working on a seminar paper? Calen Swift's article Seminar Papers: Conversations With Your Mind, provides suggestions will bring out your internal critical thinker.

New to Evergreen? Unsure about how to write a self-evaluation? Or have you had an unusual quarter, and need help figuring out how to convey your experiences? The Writing Center is holding self-evaluation workshops at the end of this quarter that you may find helpful.

Community Connections!
During weeks 2-5 students can now make hour-long appointments to review their essay and have a conversation with a tutor about their goals for writing at Evergreen. Please be sure to tell the person making the appointment that you are in the Community Connections program. Tutors are available limited hours Monday through Sunday in the Writing Center, and Sunday through Wednesday in Primetime, A Dorm. Check our hours in the upper right-hand corner of this page. Grammar Garden
Grammar, Eeeeeoooo...But grammar is fun! Achieve power over your own sentences; don't leave it to someone else! In just four weeks you can get to know for yourself what's going on with all those words you write; Progress from Its to Bits to Sentences to Curliques (otherwise known as punk-tuation!), FREE in the Writing Center, weeks 4-7, 2:00-3:00 pm. (Feel free to bring snacks)
Writing Center recognized as awesome in re-accreditation evaluation
A commendation was given to the Writing Center in a report by the re-accreditation evaluation committee. From the report: "A commended goal of the Writing Center is to give voice to a student in any setting, from a program assignment to a self-evaluation."
